What Makes a True Friend?

True friends are hard to find. I personally can count with the fingers of one hand the amount of true friends that I have. Hmmm...or should I say that I don't have any?? hmmmm.... So what constitutes a true friend?

There are times in each of our lives when we are in need of real help. We may be in serious trouble, we may have made a huge mistake, we may be extremely depressed, we maybe very sad or we may be short of money. A true friend will be more than happy to help us in these types of situation, without reservation. They will not judge us on the predicament that we have found ourselves however much we are to blame. This true friend will not spread our gossip to other people and will be there to offer advice and support.

You will be able to trust your true friends one hundred percent. They will pick you up when you are down, they will be a shoulder to cry on when you are upset and will be somebody who you spend many an evening having spills and frills.

A true friend will make time for you when you are in need of their company. They will share your good news and bad. They are likely to be interested in all aspects of your life and will not desert you for other people.

In reality the unfortunate truth is that the amount of true friends that we have will reduce over the years. This is a natural occurrence as we realise that the person who we thought and classed as a true friend is in fact not deserving of that title.

So how many of these types of friend have you? If you have more than five then I will be very jealous, I hope you realise just how lucky you are.

Happy to get a friend that could be rely, no doubting, and get pampered in the same time....

Good Friday falls on April 2, 2010

Good Friday is a day of strict fasting and abstinence. Catholics who are over the age of 18 and under the age of 60 are required to fast, which means that they can eat only one complete meal and two smaller ones during the day, with no food in between. Catholics who are over the age of 14 are required to refrain from eating any meat, or any food made with meat, on Good Friday.

Good Friday is the day on which we commemorate the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross, the act that brought salvation to all who believe. It is the culmination of Holy Week, which begins on Palm Sunday, and it takes place two days before Easter Sunday.

The liturgy begins at 3:00 PM and is divided into three separate parts: prayers and readings (including the passion story from the Gospel of John and known as the Liturgy of the Word), the veneration of the cross (a Latin rite which involves kissing the foot of the crucifix which stands at the entrance of the sanctuary), and finally Holy Communion. There may also be what is known as the Three Hours Service, held from noon to 3:00 PM, which involves a series of hymns, prayers, and sermons focused upon Jesus' seven last words on the cross. Good Friday and the following Holy Saturday are the only dates of the year when mass is not celebrated in Roman Catholic churches.
